A traditional technology that I favor in the classroom in the audio cassette tape. This is always helpful for reading in the classroom because books on tape are a great way to engage in novels and other readings in the classroom.
A newer technology, Mp3 files, can also be very useful in the classroom. They can be used for reading as well as the arts such as music. An example of this would be to have students play along with an Mp3 track on a certain instrument. Projects are also very useful in the classroom to display a teachers lesson to the entire class using power points or videos. Digital and Internet video technologies can be helpful to get information that other professionals have made and use it in your own classroom. This can definitely be an effective way to portray the material to the students.

Chapter 6 response
I believe that technology in the classroom has its pros and cons. All things considered I feel that I would prefer to teach in a classroom with more technologies. This is because they can give students more of a hands-on learning experience and enhance engagement in the classroom. I believe a microphone is a helpful technology in the classroom because it helps the teacher get the lesson across to the students louder. I also believe that scanners and cameras should be integrated into the classroom because these are important devices for students to learn to know how to use outside of the classroom. Handheld computers and Macs are also important because there are many applications teachers can use to engage students in a more efficient way in all subjects. The teacher does need to be wary of the fact that increased technology leads to increased distraction so they should find a way to eliminate this.
